Deposits of up to $100,000 in First National Bank of Washington are federally insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The FDIC is an independent agency of the United States Government established in 1933 to insure bank deposits, help maintain sound conditions in our banking system, and to protect our nations' money supply in case of financial institution failure. The FDIC protection of your funds is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States
All types of bank deposits, such as savings, checking, interest-earning checking, savings, and Certificates of Deposits are insured by the FDIC. Securities, mutual funds and similar types of investments are not covered by deposit insurance.
The basic insured amount for a depositor is $100,000. Accrued or anticipated interest or earnings is included when calculating insurance coverage.
Deposits maintained in different categories of legal ownership are separately insured. Therefore, it is possible for you to have more than $100,000 insurance coverage in a single institution if the funds are owned and deposited in different ownership categories.
Federal deposit insurance covers joint accounts such as joint tenants with a right of survivorship, tenants by the entireties, tenants in common or a deposit owned by a husband and wife.
Funds deposited by an executor or administrator for the estate of a deceased person are added to any funds maintained in the name of the deceased with a maximum insured level of $100,000.
All funds belonging to the estate of the deceased, whether held in the name of deceased or deposited by the executor or administrator for the deceased's estate, are separately insured from funds owned by the executor, administrator or beneficiary of the estate.
Funds deposited by a corporation, partnership, or unincorporated association are insured up to a maximum of $100,000. Funds deposited by a corporation, partnership, or unincorporated association are insured separately from the personal accounts of the stockholders, partners, or members.
For further details of FDIC coverage of your deposits, please obtain our pamphlet "Questions & Answers: Your Insured Deposits" or consult the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (12 U.S.C.1881 et.seq.) and the FDIC's regulations relating to insurance coverage (12 C.F.R. Part 330).

WE OFFER OTHER FEATURES TO BENEFIT YOUR BUSINESS
IMPORTANT CHANGES TO EXISTING IRA'S
Along with creating the Roth IRA, the 1997 legislation brought some important improvements to the traditional IRA. One change is an increased ability to deduct IRA contributions. If you don't currently qualify for an IRA deduction on your taxes, the increase in deduction limits over the next ten tears may make you eligible.
Another significant change is the "delinking" of spouses for active participation. This means if one spouse is an active participant in an employer sponsored retirement plan, but the other is not, each determines his or her deductibility independently. In other words, more spouses who are active participants will now be eligible for IRA deductions.
A first-time home purchase is also a new penalty-free distribution available to the traditional IRA.
A NEW IRA
The Roth IRA is a nondeductible IRA that offers tax-deferred earnings and tax-free distributions. Tax-deferred earnings allow you to grow your next egg at a faster pace than taxable investments. But, the best part about these new investment products is that they offer tax-free distributions if you follow certain requirements. That means the money you withdraw is yours alone and doesn't have to be included as income at tax time.
WE'LL HELP YOU GET THERE.
Whether you're saving for your first home, or a more comfortable retirement, we'll help you get there. Find out more about the new Roth IRA and the improved traditional IRA. Call or discuss your possible options. Stop by First National Bank for confidential, professional advice regarding the best way to develop your retirement plan.
